Pre-launch jitters, the Saturday before.
I’m pretending that I’m writing this at the table, with a martini in hand, French jazz humming in the background and the waft of a Maison Balzac candle filling in the air.
Only one of those things is true (spoiler: it’s the last one).
Instead, I’m in my favourite tracksuit set, sitting on the couch with a heat pack (thanks endo), encased in a plush throw and the sound of my fiancé playing computer games. The candle smells nice.
I’m telling you this because even this exhaustion can’t stop me from getting I Do Club up and running. It’s the Saturday before the launch, and I can feel the excitement and nervous ruminate in equal measure. We’re almost there.
Naturally, there have been some tech difficulties that make me want to pull out my hair, as well as the moving parts of creating a service: the actual vow writing bit, meeting amazing people + couples, more writing, plus the marketing, finance, business admin, networking etc etc.
It’s going to be a whirlwind and I’m here for it.
What I’m looking forward to most post-launch is my first booking. The first time I ‘do the thing’ and help someone articulate what they want to say to their partner and best friend.
When that moment comes, I’ll let you know.
